Overview

Super Retail Group (SRG) are a retailer of automotive parts, tools, equipment and accessories; boating, camping, fishing and outdoor apparel and equipment; and sporting equipment and apparel. They are the owners of four iconic brands across New Zealand and Australia including Rebel Sport, BCF, Super Cheap Auto and Macpac.

Challenges

SRG was looking for a company that could provide a full-service implementation including site safety and traffic management auditing, risk assessments, and the development of Traffic Management Plans (TMP) and Traffic Control Maps. With several distribution centres across New Zealand and Australia, they needed a consistent method to be replicated across each site. They had two sites in Brisbane, two sites in Melbourne, one site in Sydney, one site in Perth and one site in Auckland.

Solutions

SRG worked with the SafeQuip team to complete site safety auditing and develop a Traffic Management Plan for each of their eight Australian and New Zealand sites. Following the completion of the TMPs, SRG prioritised the site safety improvements across all their sites according to the level of risks as set out in the SafeQuip risk assessments.

Within a two-year period, SafeQuip completed several staged safety improvement projects for all distribution centres including line marking, safety signage and load restraint improvements.

After the initial solutions were implemented, SRG reached out to our SafeQuip team again a few years later to review and refresh their Traffic Management Plans and provide updated risk assessments and Traffic control maps across their seven operational distribution centres at that time. As standards and regulations changed, SRG wanted to ensure each site had up-to-date traffic control plans.

Following the review of their TMPs, our team refreshed their line marking and various traffic controls including safety barriers and speed humps, and other safety features.

Results

The services implemented by SafeQuip provided a foundation for SRG ensuring site safety and traffic standards were established across all of their distribution centres. To ensure consistency across all sites, SafeQuip was used as their sole supplier for all safety requirements. As a result, employees and visitors can visit any site and expect the same regulations and processes across all sites.

SafeQuip is now SRG's trusted Traffic Management Consultants and we have worked together for seven years.
