Challenges
Swisse Wellness was moving into a new facility and needed expert guidance to identify safety risks and implement effective solutions. Through a comprehensive site safety audit, we assessed potential hazards and installed a tailored range or products to address the site’s complexities.
One of the primary challenges was ensuring safety between the warehouse and office areas, particularly regarding forklift movement. The offices featured large glass windows with no physical barriers, leaving them vulnerable to mobile plant activity.
Walkways connecting the office to the dispatch areas also posed risks, as they crossed multiple loading zones. To enhance pedestrian safety, clear segregation measures were required.
Additionally, warehouse workstations needed extra safeguards, including barriers around dispatch desks and pick/processing areas to protect workers from vehicle and equipment movement.
Another key challenge was establishing safe operating zones in floating and unloading areas while maintaining efficiency. To address this, we installed expandable barriers, providing flexible yet secure separation across high-risk areas.
Solutions
We conducted a thorough site safety audit, using our established auditing procedures to identify key risks. Based on our findings, we developed a tailored safety strategy, implementing solutions in a staged approach to align with Swisse Wellness’ budget and operational priorities.
To mitigate these risks, we implemented line-marked walkways with barriers to safeguard the offices and create practical designated pedestrian zones. Warehouse workstations were secured with barriers and line marking, reducing the risk of collisions from mobile plant.
Key safety solutions included the installation of bollards, clear safety signage, line marked designated zones including ‘Keep Clear’ and driver safety zones. Additional measures, such as pallet wrapper angles and column protection, were also implemented to reinforce site safety and minimise potential hazards.
Results
Our safety solutions were tailored to address the unique challenges of Swisse Wellness’ facility, ensuring a safer and more efficient workplace.
As a result, workplace safety improved through better segregation of high-risk areas, while the integration between the office and warehouse spaces became more organised and seamless.
The implemented measures ensured compliance with safety regulations, reduced risks, and improved traffic flow by minimising congestion and collision hazards. By streamlining the layout and enhancing workplace organisation, Swisse Wellness achieved greater efficiency, fewer disruptions, and improved productivity
